- LoRaWAN Security
LoRaWAN is a low power, low implementation complexity, low cost and highly scalable solution. Sensoterra sensors embody each of these characteristics and are built to last multiple years collecting a transmitting data thanks to the robust and effective design. Security is essential to building a multi-year solution. LoRaWAN satisfies those needs as well by being very secure due to its reliance on well-vetted algorithms, end-to-end security, mutual authentication, integrity protection, and confidentiality. They are established during the device provisioning process, and are maintained with end-to-end encryption. All LoRa communication is encrypted with AES 128. - Data storage/hosting
Sensoterra servers are spread over multiple data centers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Data centers are operated by DigitalOcean. Soil moisture data is stored and available to you for 10 years (unless request is received to delete data or a device is removed from your account). Hosting access is secured by industry best practices like two-factor authentication and data is backed up once every 24 hours. - API, Sensoterra app and Monitor Portal
All API and application access is encrypted with TLS/SSL. - Data management, deletion, download methods
- Soil moisture data is stored for the customer for 10 years
- Personal data can be deleted upon request
- 4 download methods:
