As a first measure of troubleshooting, it is important to identify whether the problem is either too big of a range or a hardware issue. Therefore, we suggest the following steps:
- Take the faulty sensor out of the ground and place it next to the gateway if possible, or next to a sensor that is currently working.
- Install the sensor in soil or in a bucket of water, while previously turning it upside down to activate it and trigger a join request.
By placing the sensor next to a working sensor or the gateway, you can ensure that the range will not be an issue, and you can expect a healthy sensor to connect to the gateway.
